It's official: the new Property Practitioners Act, like its predecessor, permits attorneys to sell properties.
The legislature accepts that these attorneys are supervised by their own regulatory authority, the Legal Practice Council and, more importantly, that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to be involved in the sale of immovable property.
A key aspect of the new Act and its regulations is that attorneys with three years' experience are now considered "principal agents" for the purposes of training candidate property practitioners. This means that we can train our own agents to become property practitioners (PPs).
The implementation of this new regulation will also enhance service quality, transparency, and ethical business practice - providing sellers with more certainty when it comes to real estate transactions.
